Dr Deshani Mendis is a returning GP to our clinic. She completed her MD at University of Queensland 2019 after a completing a Bachelor of Science with extended major in biomedical science. She spent time in Hervey Bay during her medical school years and then spent a year at Caboolture Hospital in Queensland before moving back to her home state of Victoria because she missed the inconsistent weather. She has worked with both Peninsula and Eastern Health before commencing GP.

Deshani enjoys all aspects of General Practice but her main interests lie in Women’s health, Children’s health, Sexual health, Mental health, LGBTQI+ health and preventative medicine.

Outside of the clinic, Deshani enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her feline furbabies. She loves to travel, play board games and whenever she gets the time she’s doing something creative, art, writing or sewing.
